PERSONAL INFORMATION

He is retired and lives with his wife of many years.  He retired as a High School Business Teacher/Counselor/Placement Director.

Married once, no children. His health is stable.  He had prostate cancer many years ago, and may still have it.  Mayo clinic did major
surgery.  It was in his lymph nodes, and they were taken out with negative margins. He had a Gleason of 9 (10 is the highest, worst), and they did not give him much hope.  They advised him to "go home and get his house in order." He went to other specialists.  Then he started relying on the Holy Spirit for guidance.  He went to the Internet, and with the help of other cancer patients, and doctors, devised a plan that was tailor-made for him.  God had a different plan.  He can't believe he is still here today. He thanks God every day.

WORK EXPERIENCE

His major work experience was as a Business Teacher/Counselor/Placement Director, in High School, in Indianapolis.

In the summers he did a couple of things.  He had a real estate brokers license, and set up his own company, with about 10 salesmen, with the office in Indianapolis.

When interest rates went up to 15% during the Carter years, real estate sales went to almost zero.  So he passed both branches
of the insurance license for the state of Indiana, and called on corporations to sell health, fire, liability, or whatever insurance they needed.

A few summers he operated his own group travel business, taking groups to Europe and Mexico.


MILITARY SERVICE

He was a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. His office job was keeping track of people (troops).  He had a TOP SECRET security clearance classification. Never went overseas.


HOBBIES

His hobbies include fishing, target practice, and ham radio.   He likes to shoot skeet/trap.  He is licensed by the National Rifle Association to instruct in Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun.  His past hobby was flying his own plane.  He flew for about 30 years.



PASSION

His passion is spreading the word of God through mass media. He wrote his first article "Using Modern Marketing Techniques to Spread the Word of God", on December 3, 1981, which appeared in the Gospel Advocate.

While a member of the Franklin, Indiana Church of Christ, God let him help Him bring the TV program "Amazing Grace" into Indiana.  The program came out of Nashville, Tenn., and the speaker was Ira North.

Brother Roy Beasley, then a member of the S. E. Church of Christ, had a radio/tape service.  He was a good preacher, and would make sermons on tape, and then mail them on a rotational basis to 22 churches in the U. S.  He wanted to expand this, and asked him to help.  So he took the summer to help him, and his marketing classes in college came in handy.

They did not have any money, but flew Will's plane (he has a commercial and instrument rating) to two different churches and accumulated $3400.  They took the money and made tapes compatible with what radio stations use.  They mailed the tapes to them, and also a mini-tape to two churches in their area, suggesting the churches contact that radio station.  God let them increase the number of radio stations to 48, if his memory serves me correctly.

Another one dear to his heart is "Good News Productions", operated by Ziden Nutt.  They are distributing solar operated machines that can play VCR's with the message of Christ.  Villages with no electricity can use them.  He drove to Joplin, MO. to visit with them at one time.

He said, "the one I love the best is "World Radio" out of W. Monroe, Louisiana".  He has watched these people for over 30 years.  Originally they did a lot of short wave radio work, as many places in the world did not have AM/FM.  Being a ham operator, he was interested in how they reached out with the message. Now most islands/countries have AM/FM, and about all of their work is with AM or FM.  The message is spoken in the native tongue, and they cover ¾ of the globe.  Recently they have gone into the Near East.  He has visited them in person.

He has made small contributions to a program called "In Search Of  The Lords Way",  out of  Edmonton, Oklahoma.  He drove over to meet the speaker, Mac Lyons,  who has a very magnetic personality.  They presently broadcast to about half of the states. This is a TV outreach.

He makes contributions to various other Radio/TV Religious Programs.

PUBLISHED FATHERS BOOK

He was instrumental in copy-writing and publishing his fathers book, "A Discussion of the Revelation", by Frank Henderson.  It was a 258 page book that he worked on for forty years.  He sent free copies to all of the Christian Church Schools/Church of Christ Schools, many libraries, shipping many overseas.  If he remember correctly, they distributed around 3,000 books.

ONE HIGH POINT IN HIS LIFE

One of the higher points in his life was when he was baptized in the Jordan River.  It was a token baptism.  This was in June of 2000, just before the war broke out.


CHURCH AFFILIATION

Will Henderson was baptized when he was 14 or 15 years of age, in the Church of Christ, in Indianapolis.

He has served as a Deacon twice, and an Elder twice, in Christian Churches.

He believes in the Restoration Movement.  So he attends the Christian Church.  He will visit the Church of Christ some of the time.  Here is an expose on the Restoration Movement written by another author,  its beginning, and ending resulting with the non-denominational Christian Churches and Churches of Christ -- simply Christians, no creed other than the Bible.
